Every day at the School, we are surrounded by constant reminders of our mission. We hear it in the hesitant notes of a first-time pianist. We see it in the giggling faces of our ukulele class. We feel it when our graduates perform on significant stages. We know the importance of our work and the difference it can make in a child’s life. What we don’t always know is if we’re doing everything we can to fulfill that mission. While we have more students, teachers and exposure than ever, there always are more who need our help, more who may like to teach and more who could give. Fortunately, we are surrounded by insightful, talented people to help guide us. On February 19, many of them joined us for a discussion about where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re headed.
Current and former teachers, board members, staff, students and the general public attended the productive visioning meeting that was step one in updating our strategic plan. The initiative, spearheaded by board president Trey Coleman, continued with a board retreat in March, and will conclude with a strategic planning workshop this summer.
